Kernel - Oud Bruin 12 x 330ml

Oud Bruin’s are one of my (James’) all time favourite styles, it’s such a rarely conceived style and such an unusual, complex and intense meld of flavours, that it stands completely in it’s own field.

The beer pours a dark reddish brown with a soft head that dissipates relatively quickly.
Give it a good sniff before the foam departs to get notes of brown bread, iron, and freshly chopped wood.

The body is sharp & direct, although the carbonation is light the acidity makes it feel quite spritzy. Immediatly you’re hit with flavours that are both rich and sour, thick skinned redfruits, a hint of strawberry, quickly giving way to the acetic notes, balsamic vinegar, minerals, hints of leather and the tannins you might expect in a strong iced tea.
